With thunder rumbling throughout the day Friday and the continued threat of lightning, BIIF officials announced the postponement approximately 90 minutes before scheduled kickoff.

Saturday’s start time will allow the officiating crew assigned to the Division II semifinal between Hawaii Prep-Kamehameha, set for 3 p.m. in Keaau, to turn around and work the contest between the Warriors (2-5 BIIF, 2-8) and Vikings (5-2, 5-4).

According to the National Weather Service, more rain is in the forecast Saturday in Hilo, with thunderstorms possible in the afternoon.
